An exciting opportunity has arisen within a high profile non departmental public body for a Head of Public Affairs. The individual will be responsible for the Public Affairs strategy, leading on the organisation's information and advocacy with political stakeholders, increasing understanding of their work and communicating the benefits of the client's services.
The Head of Public Affairs will be agreeing an advocacy plan to reach key political opinion formers as well as conveying key messages and responding to internal and external developments. This will include reviewing key government and cultural agendas at a national level. The role will also include contributing to the assembling and packaging of evidence to aid reporting and understanding of the client's work and spotting opportunities for tactical profile building in the media or any high profile event or conference. There will also be responsibilities for line management, budgeting and contract management.
The successful applicant for the role of Head of Public Affairs will have proven experience in campaigning and lobbying and will be a skilled influencer and networker having worked within a similar role at a similar level. The candidate must demonstrate excellent written communication skills at a senior level and be capable of leading and developing a strategic and proactive approach to public affairs.
