Reporting to the PR Manager, your role will involve you creating newsworthy stories that will get national coverage and raise the profile of the university and its courses, from industry comments to promoting/launching new courses, awards, bursary's, to piggy backing or creating stories surrounding govt policy and spending to student behaviour / trends, building case studies and much more. This truly is a talented marketing and PR team so you will learn lots as well as receive excellent training. You'll also attend events and be involved in sponsorship.
You will need
Superb writing skills
A proven track record of working in public relations, either gained in an agency or in-house
Private sector experience is desirable but not essential
Experience and a solid track record of dealing with the media is essential - a portfolio of coverage would be desirable
Creative abilities
Self sufficiency and the ability to work in a fast paced environment
Experience of creating newsworthy stories from sometimes dry material
