Basingstoke College of Technology (BCOT) is a UK college of further education with 2,200 full time students and about 10,000 part time students. General further education colleges in the UK are established to meet local needs for vocational training. BCOT works with more than 1,310 employers providing training in areas such as care, construction, engineering/automotive technologies, business/leisure, hairdressing/beauty therapy and retail and is also affiliated to the University of Winchester. The college has received several awards in recent years for their training courses including CoVEs (Centre of Vocational Excellence) in Construction/Interior Skills and Retail and has consistently performed well in government inspections.
Job Purpose:
*The development of a College’s marketing strategy, which aims to increase the number of students attending the College and the number of companies using the College for training and development services
*Planning, directing and delivering effective, high quality and timely PR, marketing, promotion and publicity for all curriculum and service departments of the College
*Ensuring up to date market, customer and competitor information is available
*Managing an effective database marketing service, including the maintenance and development of the Customer Relationship Management System.
*The provision of leadership and direction to the marketing and publicity functions/staff
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
*To increase the community’s awareness and understanding of BCOT.
*To actively engage with other organisations and develop opportunities to work in partnership.
*To provide strategic leadership for the development of the College Marketing & Publicity strategies.
*To ensure the timely provision of high quality internal and external communication and sales and marketing materials.
*To co-ordinate the provision of Market Research/LMI and to work with Head of Departments in using this information to inform curriculum planning and to develop new provision
*To be responsible for the development and management of the College web site and the implementation of an on line marketing strategy
*To plan, organise and ensure the effective running of College events
*To develop and maintain good and productive relationships with the local media
*To manage external marketing agency activities
*To develop the new branding for Basingstoke College and to manage the communication plans for the proposed new building
*To identify opportunities for appropriate corporate sponsorship of College facilities and to take these through to successful conclusion
*To develop the staff intranet as an internal marketing tool
*To develop and monitor a College Information Policy
*To undertake professional development and to deliver training for staff on public relations, marketing & related matters.
Skills & Experience required:
*Specialist marketing qualifications (degree or equivalent level professional qualification)
*In-depth knowledge of web lead/online marketing
*Demonstrable experience of delivering significant aspects of marketing in a customer-facing organisation
*Team Management
*Budgetary and resource management
