A renowned department of the NHS is seeking a confident and dedicated Senior Media Executive to join them, on a temporary basis, to support them in driving their demanding media strategy forward.
The post holder will be responsible for managing national and key regional media relations programmes as well as taking the lead in the development of the department's media relations strategy and producing written and edited copy for publication and use by the media.
The Senior Media Executive will also be responsible for issue management; communicating personally with the media to achieve the Department's strategic objectives, often on highly contentious, sensitive and complex issues; take the lead on the development of the department's media policies and build effective relationships with key journalists and media representatives of other Healthcare organisations.
Activities of the Senior Media Executive will also include; defending the reputation of the department through the 24/7 media function; issues and news management are key to this role but feature and documentary coverage are also critical success factors so the role requires someone who is hard-working, creative and able to manage their time effectively and efficiently.
Ideally the successful Senior Media Executive will have previous experience in a public relations role, dealing with the media at a national level and managing complex issues. They will be familiar with implementing communications campaigns and have the confidence to advise senior managers on communications issues.
The successful applicant will be creative, confident, diplomatic and eager to further their Media Relations career within a prestigious Public Sector department.
