PR Executives & Senior PR Executives
Sterling Communications is a high profile and dynamic communications agency based in London covering Marketing and Brand Management, Public and Media Relations, Event Management and Advertising for national and international clients. In addition to this, the company has four areas of specialism including Film and Entertainment Marketing, Multicultural & International Communications, Online Social Marketing and Luxury & Lifestyle Marketing.
Exciting opportunities have arisen within the company for dynamic PR/Marketing Executives & Senior PR/Marketing Executives to work across a variety of clients including leisure & tourism, culture & diversity, finance, corporate & business, food & beverage, entertainment & film, online lifestyle and gambling portals, celebrities, charity and high end event campaigns.
The candidate will be involved in the development and management of internal and external PR plans designed to meet client objectives: B2B/ B2C, acquisition/ retention, changing attitudes/influencing behaviour. The activity would also include delivering an integrated approach to communications embracing PR, media, experiential, online, outreach and advertising activity.
A degree or professional qualification in PR/Marketing would be preferable with an ambition to progress their career.
The Candidates - Attributes
- Motivated communicators; organised and diplomatic; pro-active and lateral thinkers; creative but commercial; with a passion for brands and the communications industry.
- Display excellent organisational and communications skills: written, verbal, IT
- Capable of demonstrating industry knowledge whilst maintaining the highest quality of work across marketing, PR, advertising and events.
- An innovative and energetic team player with experience of multi-tasking and working in an agency environment across a range of client sectors / projects
- An appreciation and experience of working with diverse and international clients would be beneficial but is not essential.
- Commercially aware, a sharp analytical mind and an ability to proactively create and develop opportunities for current and new clients in line with ROI objectives
- Effective time management and the determination to work in a high paced environment delivering results within a time sensitive environment on time and to target.
- Attention to detail is key whilst retaining a clear view of the overall objectives for the campaign
PR Executives:
A minimum of 12 months experience working in an agency environment and within the marketing industry.
The key day to day tasks would include:
- Creating, organising and updating databases of contacts for PR, marketing and events requirements
- Maintain and develop contacts
- Provide rounded support to seniors
- Preparing regular client status reports including coverage reports and cuttings
- Extensive research for clients, industry, topics, issues, target audiences
- Exposure to concepts of devising, planning, implementing, managing and evaluation integrated marketing campaigns for clients according to a specific brief and objective
- Knowledge of marketing mix such as street campaigns, online digital marketing activities, sponsorship, advertising and media buying, marketing partnerships and synergies, CRM, direct marketing, e-marketing
- Drafting various forms of copy including but not limited to press releases, competition copy and other communications text such promotional copy, newsletters as for approval by senior managers
- Knowledge of marketing and PR collateral to use for campaigns
- Monitoring, collating and analysing media coverage and producing cuttings files for clients
- Place articles/ features/ samples with press, handle routine press inquiries and keep an accurate log, liaise with media and follow-up under Account Manager's direction
- Ensure all work issued is accurate and in line with the company's values and has ultimate sign off from the Managing Director
Senior PR Executive:
A minimum of 2-3 years experience working in an agency environment and within the marketing industry
The key day to day tasks would include:
- Experience of delivering integrated PR strategies for existing and new clients
- Place articles/ features/ samples with press, handle routine press inquiries and keep an accurate log, liaise with media and follow-up
- Maintain and develop media relations and general contacts
- Strategic sell ins to high end media across print, broadcast & online
- Event management, including press conferences and promotional events
- Co-ordinating studio or location photography
- Identify and react to problems in the creation, production and implementation of all marketing communications activities and determine the appropriate action required
- Working with and / or managing the work of juniors for reporting to account managers
- Ability to confidently follow up e.g. leads, coverage, information for marketing, events, advertising and PR/media
- Preparing regular client reports and attending client meetings to assess the progress of campaigns
- Ability to manage and drive PR/marketing campaigns and accounts across various industry sectors
- Daily client liaison and support management
- Contribute to pitch proposals and presentations
- Weekly status meetings with account team to update on short-term progress of accounts
- Undertaking research for new business proposals
- Ability to devise, plan, implement, manage and evaluate integrated marketing campaigns for clients according to a specific brief and objective
- Drafting various forms of copy including but not limited to press releases, competition copy and other communications text such promotional copy, newsletters as for approval by senior managers
- Assessment and feedback of what PR/marketing collateral would work for specific target audiences
- Experience of evaluation methodologies - qualitative and quantitative - to assess expected ROI from suggested PR/marketing activity and success against pre set KPIs
- Knowledge of value adding existing activity for a client such as events and PR through marketing
- Taking responsibility for liaising with internal and external resources to achieve affiliate campaign objectives
- Ensuring acute and professional support account management of all campaigns in terms of the implementation and reporting process
