A PR account director is required to become an important team member within a small busy agency based in Buckinghamshire.
The PR account director would head up all PR and communications activities within the agency. This would include overall responsibility for all client liaison; development of long and short term PR strategies; managing the PR team (five people) and weekly work loads; providing substantial creative input into designing and implementing client strategies; undertaking a volume of written communications/press information themselves; managing effective reporting back to clients, and answering directly into the managing director. The PR account director would form a key member of the agency’s senior management team and would be expected to contribute to the systems and processes that are key to the agency’s overall success. However, it should also be stressed that this is a ‘hands on role’ and, along with management of strategy and the PR team, the account director would need to be a ‘productive’ member of the team, leading by example and demonstrating the highest standards within his/her own work.
The PR account director must have substantial experience of working on a range of clients and media environments, in recognition that this provides a depth of experience, creativity and the ability to think laterally, transferring ideas and drawing on experience gained outside of RSM’s client base.
Key personal skills will include first-class writing abilities, a pleasant and effective telephone manner, a highly organised approach to often-pressured deadlines and, at times, a heavy workload….and a sense of humour would help!
