Technology is the key focus of the company, and you will need to show a sound understanding of the sector from your own research as well as enthusiasm and a passion for learning something new. Fields of expertise include enterprise software, mobile & wireless, networking, security and telecoms – these industries aren’t for everyone, but are perfect for a tech-head who can get excited about chips, hardware and anything else b2b. Training and development are second to none, with the agency investing double the industry average in each individual. As a junior team member, you will undertake tutorials on PR techniques and practice as well as the technology sector itself, particularly the core areas of security and mobile working. Client-facing, media relations and account duties will immediately be handed to you, even if you are only at trainee level – this isn’t a typical PR agency where juniors just make the tea! Previous experience within PR is absolutely essential – tech experience is not a prerequisite but if you do not have it, you will need to show a clear awareness of what it involves and a clear rationale behind your application for this position. It’s not all ipods and plasma TVs!
