An exciting and fulfilling opportunity to work as a Press Officer for a small charity has arisen! The charity, based in south west London, is well established and is the sole UK wide charity in its sector. Its aim is to increase awareness of certain health aspects and offers guidance to those in need. They are now looking for a Press Officer to ensure they are noticed!
This role is mainly helping the Head of Communications to identify and develop a range of media and public relations activities to increase the public awareness of the charity's goal.
The chosen candidate will need strong communication skills as they will be required to establish and develop effective working relationships with contacts across the media, especially health editors and health journalists. As they are a charity, there is no money for advertising, so PR is of major importance to them and they are looking for a candidate who is really looking for a challenge and likes getting coverage.
The client is looking for a candidate that has excellent previous press office experience, ideally in the charity sector. You need to have strong writing skills and be great on the phone, gaining coverage! Self-motivated, organised and a hands on approach is really essential.
My client is based in Tooting Bec, SW London, close to the tube station. This really is a role where you can really make a difference so if you have been a Press Officer and already work or want to work in the charity sector then this is a great chance to truly improve people's health and ultimately their lives!!
