The company currently have an exciting opportunity for a Press Officer to join their team at their Head Office in Winchester. The main purpose of this role is to help increase the overall awareness of the company through media relations – copywriting and proofreading are key to this role. You will deal with trade and consumer journalist enquiries, support campaigns and help with the organisation of press events. You will also be required to liase with internal and external customers, which will include journalists, member dentists and internal and field-based staff.
Your other responsibilities will include establishing and maintaining a positive and professional relationship with targeted editors, journalists and freelance journalists from both trade press, consumer media and where identified, regional and national press in order to initiate regular positive coverage of Denplan. As well as being highly organised, this role will also require you to complete other press office duties including press clippings collation, analysis and reporting.
The successful candidates will be educated to Degree level or equivalent and will have previous press office/media relation’s experience and ideally hold a PR qualification. It is essential that you have an understanding of consumer and trade press management, pitching and selling feature ideas, article writing and proofreading.
Well presented and confident you will be resilient to stressful situations and must be able to function whilst under pressure. An excellent communicator at all levels you will be able to develop and maintain rapport with a wide range of individuals.
Due to the nature of the role you will occasionally be required to work out of hours to assist with press and company events. This role may also involve national travel.
