One of the UK's leading professional service organisations is looking for PR
Officer. Reporting in to the Marketing Manager you will have the following
responsibilities: -
-Proactively pursue the development of story lines to generate positive
media coverage for the company, both on a corporate level and for the Firm's
service and sector lines
-Respond to media and press enquiries
-Draft press releases and articles
-Maintain and communicate progress reports
-Select spokespeople to respond to enquiries where necessary
-Provide support on major projects to partners and members of the Business
Development department as directed
-Administrate the media training programme
-Read all daily and weekend press and utilise current issues to generate
relevant story ideas which will benefit the company
-Maintain day to day press office function including keeping press lists up
to date and logging and disseminating media coverage as appropriate
-Assume responsibility for designated specific projects and manage them to
completion
-Advise regional personnel on PR issues and sign-off press material from
regional PR agencies
The ideal candidate will have: -
-Professional services, financial or corporate PR experience from an inhouse
or PR agency background
-The confidence to deal with people of all levels and experience,
particularly those more senior to themselves
-Genuine interest in general business issues and current affairs
-Ability to use initiative, work independently and work effectively under
pressure
-An analytical mind and the ability to take complex information and make it
more easily understandable
-A team player who has an outgoing and enthusiastic personality and can
demonstrate a confident and professional manner
